Oscar LaDell + Wilson Blackley live at the Taproom

May 15 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

Friday May 15, free entry.
Known for his velvety vocals and magnetic live presence, Naarm/Melbourne-based soul/blues singer-songwriter Oscar LaDell brings a show driven by his electrifying rhythm section, sensitive guitar work and cinematic lyricism.

Now, joined by Aotearoa-based soul auteur Wilson Blackley, Oscar is bringing his band to Australian audiences this May for an 8 date tour of the East Coast.
After releasing his debut solo EP No Blue in 2024, Oscar has toured Australasia and abroad over the past 18 months, most recently in Europe and the US in late ’25, followed by supporting Wilson Blackley on a Summer Tour of Aotearoa. 2026 has brought an opening slot for Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram in Aotearoa in March, followed by opening for Eric Bibb (US) across Australia in April/May. This May, attendees can look forward to beautiful harmonies from LaDell & Blackley, as well as a taste of what’s to come for both artists in the form of unreleased material from their respective forthcoming projects.
Born in regional Victoria’s hilly South Gippsland, Wilson Blackley’s musical journey started at an early age, picking up his first pair of drumsticks at just two years old. He was raised on his mother’s record collection, absorbing a large variety of genres. Wilson’s songs tow the line between love and pain, provoking his audience’s imaginations, and reinventing the spaces in which he performs.
