Sunday August 9 at 4pm (note early start!), free entry. Duo show with support from Jules Sheldon and Guthrie.
Rising Naarm/Melbourne-based dream folk singer & songwriter Bec Sykes (she/her) performing songs from her Australian Music Prize-nominated debut album “Pepperpot Magic” and previewing the new music she’s been creating since its release.
Lauded for her songwriting prowess, striking voice and captivating stage presence, the magnetism of Bec Sykes’ live performance is as palpable when performing stripped back on iconic Recital Centre stages as it is with her full band at much-loved sticky carpet venues. Her performances are grounded with a refinement and growth in confidence that mirrors the deeply personal evolution traced on her “beautifully intimate” (Atwood Magazine) debut album.

“A robust, hypnotic voice… Stylistically we hear evidence of Fiona Apple and The Weather Station.” – The Wild Is Calling US
